I recently visited GMC Classic Dealership Service Department in Texarkana after driving an hour and a half to get my check engine light diagnosed. Unfortunately, my technician, Dillon wasn’t available, and I didn’t want the trip to be wasted, so Kenny helped me instead. Everything was fine until I was told the issue wouldn’t be covered under my current warranty and the repair would cost just under $1,100. I wasn’t prepared for that, so I declined the repair. That’s when I was informed I would be charged for labor — something that was never mentioned upfront when I dropped the vehicle off. The labor fee for one hour came out to $223, even though I had already waited two hours, and after paying, I waited another two hours just to get my vehicle back. The whole situation left me feeling taken advantage of. I called the next business day and spoke with Dillon, who was kind but unable to do much aside from offering to remove the labor charge if I brought the vehicle back for the full repair. In the past, I’ve brought our SUV in for check engine diagnostics and was never charged, so this was surprising and disappointing. Because of this experience, I won’t be returning to GMC Classic.

February 23, 2026So sorry for your inconvenience. I can't imagine someone not telling you up front about the diagnostic fee, that is usually something that is always told up front. Sorry that was not told to you. I will send this to management and it will be addressed.
